About

Drawing inspiration from utopian experiments attempted and imagined, honeybee architecture and communication, theme parks, and cooperative and adaptive behaviors observed across life forms, the BEE CITY OF NOW explores the ways people relate to their built environment and one another through the lens of contemplative socioentomology (no live bees are involved in this project). BEE CITY OF NOW will transform the Arts Center’s second floor outdoor patio and metamorphize over the course of a year, integrating the building’s architecture and spawning multiple public workshops and programs.
