Every other Thursday, our driver procures food from our primary supplier and business partners such as Aldi, Kroger and Publix. Volunteers will assist the driver in loading, transporting, unloading, sorting and storing the food. Your role: Beginning at 10:00am, you will ride along with the company driver to pick-up and load the food from the supplier. When you return to the agency, you will help unload the truck and store the food. Your day will usually end by 6:00pm. This is a ride-along role. You'll help by riding with the company's driver to pick-up, transport and store food that was donated by our business partners. Organized by Overcomers House Incorporated. Tips: PLEASE READ THIS. IT WILL HELP YOU PREPARE TO VOLUNTEER:
If this is your first time registering, you will receive an application and information via email within 24hrs. If you don't receive an email from events@myovercomershouse.org, check your spam folder. If you registered within 24hrs of the day you are scheduled to volunteer, you may not receive the documents. Please arrive at or before 10:00am. Bring work gloves and wear comfortable attire for moving around and working in a walk-in freezer. Your day should end by 6:00pm.
If you cannot work until 6pm of something changes and you cannot attend, please cancel your registration. Cancelling online allows someone else to register. If you are a no-show three times, you will be prohibited from future registration. This position is not open to people under 21 years old.
You must be able to repeatedly lift and carry at least 30lbs. No open-toed or flimsy shoes (e.g. flip flops, crocs, espadrilles, sandals, heels, foam runners, slippers, etc.); no sheer or fitted clothing (e.g. tights, yoga pants, leggings, etc), no pajamas, ear buds, band
