About
Explore and support one of Atlanta's unique community gardens, orchards or farms. Our volunteer workdays allows you to learn more about gardening and urban agriculture while providing support to growers. Your role: Our workdays generally have up to 20 participants. You'll be working together at a garden, orchard or farm with FWA staff and gardeners leading the workday. You don't need any gardening experience, just a willingness to learn and work outdoors! Food Well's volunteer program partners with community gardens around metro Atlanta to provide support to these food-producing spaces. Organized by Food Well Alliance. Tips: Thank you for registering for a Food Well Alliance community garden workday! A few important details: We plan to work rain or shine, but may need to postpone/reschedule if conditions are unsafe (thunder/lightning, ice). While we try to avoid it, we do sometimes cancel if there is low registration. If we do have to cancel, we'll email you to help reschedule for a future volunteer workday. Youth Volunteers: Our minimum age to volunteer is 8 and all participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at the garden. For youth groups, there must be at least one adult for every 8 youth participants, and all volunteers under 18 will need a signed Youth Waiver to participate. Please email gardens@foodwellalliance.org to receive a copy of the waiver. Wear: Close-toed shoes, clothes you don't mind getting dirty, hat, Bring: Filled water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray We'll Provide: Tools, wheelbarrows, garden gloves and snacks. If you have any questions, please contact us as gardens@foodwellalliance.org.
