About
Governor Kemp called a Special Legislative Session for June 17 that could reshape our voting maps and impact communities across the state for years to come. Join Common Cause Georgia and partners for an advocacy day on June 22 at the Capitol to keep our movement strong during the special session and pushback against this attempt to gerrymander our maps at the cost of Georgia voters and in particular Black and brown voters whose voting power is most under threat with these new maps. This event will bring together Georgians from across our state’s multiracial and geographically diverse communities to advocate for fair representation and a democracy where voters choose their politicians, not the other way around. Participants will receive training and support on: -What the Special Session means for Georgia communities -How redistricting impacts schools, resources, representation, and political power -How to effectively speak with legislators and legislative staff -How to share personal stories and advocate for fair maps Together, we can fight for maps that reflect the people of Georgia, not political power grabs.
