Serving with us will leave our volunteers feeling a bit more hopeful and joyful because they will be spreading much-needed joy & hope to our neighbors that often feel unseen, unheard and uncared for. Your role: Hugs & Hope volunteers will: * Help setup the outside area for food distribution. * Help our neighbors shop for their non perishable goods. * Help serve hot meal *. Help organize the inside pantry areas and the clothes distribution rooms. Volunteers will help distribute groceries & a hot meal outdoors and/or will work indoors helping organize the food pantry and clothes closet distribution rooms. Organized by Christ First Community Church. Tips: All volunteers should be at least 18 years of age, without a chaperone, able to lift 40 lbs, and wear comfortable, appropriate clothing and closed-toed shoes. We have hand sanitizer and gloves available at all times. Our pantry is located at Rock of Ages Lutheran Church on Memorial Drive. Upon arrival please park on the front left side of the church doors and come to the 2nd set of double doors to knock for enterance. We do not have lockers so please leave all personal items locked in the car while you volunteer. If you encounter any issues on the day you are scheduled to volunteer or you are not able to volunteer as planned, please text a message to 404-468-3268 as soon as possible so that we can make arrangements for additional help, if needed.
