About

Description: Join the National Park Service for a campfire, an opportunity to create art from natural objects, a short, guided walk and a beautiful summer evening. We’ll collect downed leaves, twigs, and other items to glue onto paper to make collages. Create painting using natural pigments. We will also create works of art using mud from the wetlands. Create your own mud painting! Join us to express your creativity naturally and enjoy the beauty of evening’s onset at the Chattahoochee. You are welcome to come early and bring a picnic dinner. After the program you are invited to join us on a short walk on the Three Forks Loop Trail. You are invited to roast marshmallows (bring your own) or just enjoy the campfire. Location: Chattahoochee River Environmental Education Center, 8615 Barnwell Road, Johns Creek, Georgia, 30022. Parking is limited and carpooling is recommended. Facilities: Located in the Center’s Lodge. Difficulty: Easy level walking Bring: Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking on a forest trail. Dress in layers so that you can adjust to changes in the temperature and activity level. Bring water and you might include snacks. You are also welcome to bring your own marshmallows to roast. We have roasting forks that you may use. Limit: 50 Registration required at www.chattahoocheeparks.org/events.
