In July we're digging deeper into stories of America and we have two looks at two very different American towns from two great American iconoclasts. This week we have the very normal, very bizarre town of Twin Peaks, brought to life on TV by David Lynch and Mark Frost in 1990. Unsatisfied with having to wrap up the story after only two seasons when it was canceled, Lynch dove back in to show fans the sinister forces that ended up killing a haunted beauty queen and bringing the FBI into town, in the fateful week before the television story began. Mostly disregarded on its 1992 release, the film's reputation and audience grew over the years and eventually Lynch and Frost brought everyone back to television in 2017 with a celebrated third season, now presumably the final season with Lynch's death. And did you know David Bowie is in this movie? Snacks and beverages permitted. Parental guidance advised.
