Fulton County Library System partners with over 30 organizations in the Metro-Atlanta area that provide various types of social services support. The Social Services team offers short-term assistance to connect patrons to longer-term support. Through partnerships with local community agencies, we can assist by providing referrals to additional outreach services which may include Veteran services, government benefit assistance, domestic violence referrals, immigration services, substance abuse resources, shelter and housing resources, medical and mental health referrals, vaccine events, obtaining identification, and legal services. You are invited to visit with one of our Social Workers in-person and see how they aid in meeting your needs. This service is free and open to the public. Direct services include: Make referrals to community partners to address patron’s needs. Provide a range of resource lists and/or do basic online searches for specific services. Make phone calls to community partners with the patron, if needed. Consult and coordinate with patron’s case managers and other providers on behalf of patrons. Assist patrons with applying for public benefits such as state health plans or other subsidized programs. Northwest has a social worker onsite the first Thursday of each month until November 2026. August 6th, September 3rd, October 1st, & November 5th Northwest Branch hosts this free Fulton County Library event in Atlanta, with 10:30 AM-4:00 PM.
