The trails at Leita Thompson are wide and relatively free of rocks and roots. Though there are changes in elevation, they're moderate and fairly easy to handle if you've been doing some recent hiking. We'll be moving at a moderate pace getting in about 5 miles in about 2 hours. There are no bathrooms, but there are three sets of porta potties throughout the park. And - - of course - - there are plenty of trees. Using the porta potties will likely result in a nice exit photo of you to add to the photo album. :-) I will start on time, so please arrive a few minutes early (9:50 am) to check in and meet your fellow members. PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW MY DIRECTIONS: Be ready to turn into the park driveway as soon as you pass through the traffic light on Woodstock Road. We'll be meeting in the large lot where the Art Center building is located. If you park in the pavilion lot, you'll have to walk up the gravel road to meet the group, or better, just turn right in your car at the gravel road to the overflow lot so that we can all park in the same place. Parking is free. If you have the time, please plan to join us for lunch after the hike at Panera Bread, right down the street from our park.
