About

Join me for a 4.5-mile hike along the Cheatham Hill Trail in Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield Park. This will be a mostly silent hike so we can enjoy a quiet early morning through the beautiful forest of oak and hickory and see more deear. Silent hikes allow us to walk with mindfulness and better connect with nature. As we begin, we will walk along a creek (there's one small crossing) where you can sometimes see a great blue heron. We will continue to the grassy meadows, pass the Illinois Monument and head back to the parking lot. Our pace will be steady with an average of 2.5+ mph Let's meet 10 minutes before the official start of the hike at the Cheatham Hill Trail Parking Lot. From Whitlock Avenue/Dallas Highway, turn on John Ward Rd, get to the traffic circle and take the second exit. The parking lot is on the right, about ¼ mile past the circle.
