About

In-person at MODA MODA members get discounts on events! Log in to your Simple Tix account when purchasing your ticket. About the Event: Join us for a guided tour of Salt: A Design Story. Salt is one of the most essential materials on earth, and one of the most overlooked. Found in oceans, deserts, mountains, and underground, it has shaped where cities rose, how money moved, what people ate through winter, and which empires survived. Humans didn't invent salt, but to secure it, harvest it, and control it, we designed the world around it. This exhibition brings together geology, history, food science, craft, ritual, and architecture to show how a single mineral has driven design across every era and culture. Seen together, these stories reveal salt as a hidden hand behind some of humanity's most consequential decisions. They remind us that the most powerful design stories are often hiding in plain sight, in the objects we use without a second thought.
