We will begin our hike at the Arkaquah Trailhead and immediately begin a steep ascent for roughly 1.5 miles gaining aproximately 2200ft of elevation. Thereafter, we will experience undulating hills with views along the way. From the trail we will arrive at the parking area of Brasstown Bald which has a shop, picnic tables and restrooms. From the lot we will walk up the 0.6 paved path to the summit of Brasstown Bald at 4784ft. On a clear day, from the observation deck, one can see GA,TN,NC and SC in the distance. Brasstown Bald is the highest point in Georgia and provides a 360 degree view from the top. We will stop for a lunch break at the summit. Pls dress in appopriate layers as it can get windy at the top. Thereafter, we will retrace our steps back to the cars. We may finish early, but have allowed some extra time for photos and viewing.
