About
After graduating Howard University, she moved to Germany to study at the Art Institute in Hamburg. She briefly returned to the United States in the early 1960s, but the gender and racial discrimination she experienced in New York galleries compelled her to seek a future elsewhere. She moved back to Germany and lived in self-imposed exile in Düren, where she taught at the EschweilerVolchochSchule. Over the next decade, she taught, exhibited and sold her work, and traveled to Africa and southern Europe.
